MOBILIZING MEETING & FUNDRAISER
FOR MARISSA ALEXANDER
Special Commentary by: Kerry Toner from CONNECT, a NYC agency dedicated to ending family violence
Join Radical Women and CONNECT for a film showing of "Crime After Crime," followed by a discussion of how we can mobilize our support for Marissa Alexander and battle domestic violence. This documentary focuses on the injustices against a domestic abuse survivor who is incarcerated for the killing of her brutally abusive boyfriend and parallels the case of Marissa Alexander, an African American mother who faces a possible 60 year sentence in Florida for simply firing a warning shot in self-defense against her abusive husband.
