Feminist theories in real life:
Socialist feminism or radical feminism --
what is the difference?
A longstanding debate has existed within the feminist movement over the source of women's oppression and how to fight it. Radical Women is socialist feminist, believing that the capitalist economic system upholds patriarchy and spawns violence against women because inequality is the source of super-profits. Contemporary radical feminist leaders point to a male, heterosexual, porn-centered culture as the source of women's embattled status. Where do these different viewpoints lead on questions such as fighting rape, attitudes toward transgender people, and strategies for liberation? Join the discussion to explore and answer these questions and more.
