Voices of the New Feminist Uprising!

A panel of activists will pay tribute to the mobilized ranks of grassroots women who are fighting for equality, radical alternatives to politics as usual, and economic justice from the Occupy and Slutwalk movements to the streets of the Middle East.

Featuring:
Amal Eqeiq
Native Palestinian; PhD candidate at the UW writing on contemporary literature of Palestinians in Israel and Mayans in Chiapas, Mexico.
Christina López
Chicana feminist and immigrant rights militant running as Freedom Socialist candidate for U.S. Vice President.
Jacinthe Assaad
Cairo-born writer and poet; studies and teaches Comparative Literature and French at the University of Washington
Jessi Murray
Co-leader of Seattle Slutwalk 2011 and 2012, which fights blaming of assault victims; active with Seattle Clinic Defense.
Teah O'Neill
Member of the Gender Equality Caucus of Occupy Seattle and an organizer of the Gender Explosion teach-in.

International Brunch served at 1:30pm for $9 donation. Door donation $2.00.
